Welcome in

We opened in 2017 because a haircut should feel like an hour off, not a production line.

Four chairs, a lot of plants and a pot of tea always on. Here is what we do differently.

Organic colour, properly done

Plant-based, ammonia-free and vegan colour that is kinder to your scalp and fades softly instead of turning brassy. Every new colour client gets a patch test and a proper chat first.
No-rush appointments

We never double book. Every appointment has fifteen spare minutes built in, so there is time to talk, time to get it right, and time to finish your tea.
Low waste, high standards

Foils, colour tubes and even the hair we sweep up are recycled. Shampoo comes from refillable bottles, and you can bring yours back to top up.

Siobhan O'NeillChorlton, colour client since 2019

“Amara is the first stylist who has cut my curls dry and actually understood them. I left with shape, not a triangle.”

Grace AdebayoLevenshulme

“Calmest hour of my month. Good tea, lots of plants, and Theo's fade is spot on every single time.”

Tom HughesAncoats

“They talked me out of bleach I did not need. Honest, kind and brilliant at what they do.”

Good to know

Questions we hear a lot.

Anything else, call us on 0161 496 0738 and whoever is free will pick up.

Is your colour really organic?

Our everyday colour range is ammonia-free, vegan and made with certified organic plant extracts. For very light blondes we sometimes need a lightener, and we will always tell you before we use one.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, if you are new to us or have not had colour with us for six months. It takes five minutes and must be done at least 48 hours before your appointment. Pop in any time we are open.

Do you cut curly and afro hair?

We do, and we love it. Amara specialises in curls, coils and waves, and cuts dry so she can see how each curl sits. Come with your hair in its natural state, without product if you can.

How long is a first appointment?

Allow around 90 minutes for a first cut, a little longer for colour. The extra time is for a proper consultation, so we understand how you live with your hair day to day.

Is the salon accessible?

We are on the ground floor with step-free access and a wide door. One of our basins tilts forward for anyone who finds leaning back uncomfortable, just mention it in your booking notes.
