About the Marsh & Shore template

A fresh, hopeful one-page site for a volunteer clean-up group in Plymouth. Deep sea blue, kelp green and buoy red with a sturdy slab serif make the numbers feel like a scoreboard, and every section answers what a first-timer wants to know before turning up on a Saturday.

Marsh & Shore opens with a huge slab headline, We pick up what the tide leaves behind, a short welcome and a wide photo of five volunteers holding full bags, with a kelp green ticket saying the next clean-up is the first Saturday of the month, 10am to 12pm. The rubbish counter fills a deep sea band with four large figures since January: 1,846 bags filled, 9,412 kilograms removed, 2,307 volunteers and 41 clean-ups this year. Top five finds is a bar chart built from plain blocks, from 4,120 plastic bottle caps down to 1,515 crisp and sweet wrappers, beside photos of plastic caught in seaweed and a tangle of fishing net.

Next clean-ups rotates through three meeting points, each with a photo, the months it hosts and practical notes on buses, parking and toilets: Gull Point slipway for pebbles, Saltreed Creek for saltmarsh and Kingfisher Reach for an easy riverside path. What to bring sets five things to pack against six pieces of kit lent free, including pickers, gloves and a locked tub for sharp items. A navy band covers free school sessions for up to 35 pupils and team days at £40 per person, and the Join a clean-up form asks for name, email, which clean-up, group size, borrowing kit, bringing children and any notes, beside a photo of a littered strandline.

To make it yours, set your own counter figures, tally categories, meeting points and months, and swap in photos from your own stretch of coast or river. The layout also suits litter-picking groups, tree planting projects, community gardens, river trusts and park friends groups that rely on regular volunteers.
