About the Inès Marchand template

A quiet, paper-toned site for a certified translator and interpreter in Montreal. Tenor Sans headings, Cardo text and hairline rules keep it editorial, and the centrepiece is a real paragraph shown in English and French side by side.

The page opens on warm paper with the headline Your words, at home in a second language, its French twin set in blue italics beneath, and a tall portrait of Inès writing by a window. A row of four figures follows: translating since 2013, 2.4 million words delivered, quotes within one working day, and the two directions she works in. Then the signature section turns dark: five lines of copy for a neighbourhood bakery, each English sentence aligned with its French version and numbered down the middle, with three lettered notes explaining choices such as why a quarter past needs its hour in French. Headings use Tenor Sans and the body text Cardo, so the page reads like a careful printed letter.

Rates sit in a clean table in Canadian dollars: general text at $0.18 a word, legal at $0.24 and marketing at $0.22, each with a minimum, beside a small interpreting panel at $480 a half day and $860 a day plus notes on rush work and certification. Four numbered specialisms come next, then turnaround times drawn as bars from 2 working days to an agreed schedule, and How a job runs in four steps from sending the file to delivery with notes. A short bio over a photo of Plateau staircases, client quotes over the old port at dusk and a Request a quote form with name, email, language pair, word count, deadline and notes close the page.

To make it yours, change the language pair, the bakery sample and its notes, then set your own rates, turnaround and photos. The same layout works well for an editor, a copywriter, a sign language interpreter, a subtitler or a localisation consultant. Keep the aligned sample, since it shows clients how you think before they ever send a file.
